Diane de Savoy

Diane de Savoy passed from this life at the age of 75 on August 29th, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on August 15th, 1950, Diane was a dedicated nurse, well known for her compassion and skill, who touched many lives with her wisdom and unwavering spirit of perseverance. Diane was a true friend and fierce matriarch who celebrated life through the lens of her endless creativity and by sharing her indelible passion for natural beauty with others. Diane is survived by: her daughter, Leslie Griffin; her grandson, Zachary Sanders; her granddaughter, Josephine Griffin; her brothers, Charles Hickson and Richard Hickson; and her loving friends who will carry forward the many nuggets of practical advice, delicious recipes, and gorgeous artwork that she so freely shared. Diane’s wishes were to be cremated and have her ashes scattered in her home state of Massachusetts, in Autumn, while the leaves were in full riot of color and splendor. Her family is planning her memorial service and the scattering of her ashes to occur in Massachusetts, during early October. I am at a complete loss for these words. How do you capture in words the beauty and contagious joy of a mother’s smile, or the smell of her hair as she hugs you, or how it feels to know that you have been loved so completely by someone? So, rather than try to do these impossible things, I’ve decided to share my mother’s “Buckit List” of things she was planning to do after beating cancer. Places to visit in the USA • Take Amtrack’s Coast Skylight (from Seattle to Los Angeles). • Eat at Tocabe Native American Grill in Denver Colorado. • See the Madame Sherri’s Castle Ruins, it’s located in Chesterfield, New Hampshire.
