Dennis Lee Tillett

Dennis Lee Tillett, 55, of Saint Cloud, Florida, passed away on March 29, 2018. He was born on September 19, 1962 and resided in Lambertville NJ until his move to Florida in 2003. Dennis is survived by his loving family; Wife of 31 years Annette Tillett, sons Jonathan Tillett and David Tillett, Father Ronald R. Tillett, Sr., brothers Ronald Tillett, Jr., Jeffrey Tillett, Sr. and wife Betty, Orville Tillett, and Scott Tillett (his twin brother) and wife Diane, as well as 14 nieces and nephews and many aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces and nephews, mother in law, and dear friends. He is preceded in death by his mother Nancy Jean Tillett. Dennis joined the Columbia Fire Company #4 in Lambertville, NJ on his 18th birthday, and so began his love of carrying on the family tradition of community service. He served in the ranks of 1st, 2nd, 3rd Lieutenant, and Captain. He was also a member of the Hunterdon County HAZMAT Team and a Certified Firefighter Instructor with the Hunterdon County Fire Academy. Dennis was a New Jersey Master Plumber and learned his trade in the family business of Ronald R. Tillett and Sons, Plumbing and Heating, and continued working his way up in that trade to become a foreman, designer, and Plumbing Instructor with Seminole County Community College, before joining HomeServe USA in 2010 until his present position as South East Regional Operations Manager. Dennis lived to work and worked to live. And boy did he enjoy life to the fullest. He loved to camp, hunt, play poker, ride his Harley Davidson, travel, watch Food Network and NCIS, and enjoyed a good scotch and cigar. Dennis loved to travel, whether his 2012 mission trip to Haiti or together with Annette and their sons on camping vacations, trips to the Tillett family home in Maine, or a trip to Orlando that ultimately lead to the family's move to Florida in 2004. Dennis and Annette traveled most recently to Las Vegas, Arizona and the Grand Canyon, as well as a 30th anniversary trip to include Graceland, New Orleans and a cruise to Mexico. Their fondest memories together were in their beloved city of New Orleans, where they shared their passion of the food, drinks, and culture. Dennis was most proud of his sons. He was a boy scout troop leader in Lambertville, as well as an advisor on his sons’ high school robotics team. There wasn't anything Dennis wouldn't do for his family, friends, church, work, or community. To say he will be missed by all is an understatement.
