Delores Lee Price

Mrs. Delores Lee Price, 78, of Northport, AL & formerly of Orlando, FL, passed away Friday, March 8th, 2013 at Hospice of West Alabama, Tuscaloosa, AL. Born in Cass, W.Va on December 12, 1934, to Grover William and Maude Verdilla (Burns) Wright, Delores grew up in a logging town that consisted of a company store and company provided housing. As a result of this environment, Delores became a gregarious and outspoken person, and was one of those rare people who never met a stranger. Throughout out the years Delores moved from Cass to Orlando, FL, where she worked for Martin Marietta, an Aerospace Company, for 15 years. From there, she traveled and lived in several states, eventually settling down with her husband in Tuscaloosa County, AL. Delores's next 34 years were spent happily, developing lasting friendships and volunteering for over 20 years at Northport DCH Hospital in Northport, AL. & attended a Baptist Church in Northport. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the most important things in life was her family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Gene Price of Northport, AL; her loving daughter, Cindy Chenevert of Minneola, FL; her step daughter, Diana Paz of Dania Beach, FL; her three sisters: Carol Sanders of Orlando, FL; Karen, wife of Bob Sheets of McDonough, GA; & Candi Covell of Orlando, FL; her two brothers: Hubert, husband of JoAnne Wright of Panama City, FL & Mark Wright of Orlando, FL. She is also survived by one granddaughter, Lindsey Pruett; her four step-granddaughters: Rachel Golubcik, Rebecca Reese, Amber O'Daniels & Alessandra Rushing; one step-grandson, Brian Price along with four step great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews that loved her greatly. She was preceded in death by two stepchildren, Jeannine Price & Jeff Price. Funeral services will be held at Osceola Memory Gardens, Kissimmee, FL, at 2:00PM on Saturday, March 16th, 2013 with Dr. David Uth of First Baptist Church of Orlando officiating. Burial will follow at Osceola Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Hospice of West Alabama , 3851 Loop Rd. Tuscaloosa, AL 35404 or First Baptist Church of Orlando, 3000 So. John Young Parkway, Orlando, FL 32805. Arrangements are under the artful care of Osceola Memory Gardens, 1717 Old Boggy Creek Road, Kissimmee, FL 34744.
