Daniel Green

Daniel Richard Green, went home in peace on Feb 9. 2023. Born Sept 26, 1941 in Chattanooga TN, son of James Madison Green and Lillian Martin Green. Dan was predeased by his brothers James, Joseph and sister Martha. Dan left the US Army 173rd Abn in March of 1966 and met his wife Vicki on Friday May 13, 1966, and asked to marry her on Sat May 14 and she accepted. He was married to the love of his life for 55 yrs. Dan and Vicki were always together. She was his best friend. Together they had 6 children, Brian (Jennifer), Corey (Tiffany), Rebecca (Frank), Tammy (TJ), Andrew (late wife Nicole) and Douglas. Out of those unions came 9 grandchildren, Chase, Jessica, Meghan, Devin, Reese, Colton, Chloe, Samantha and Ryan and one great grandson Matthew. He was known to the kids as Poppy. The happiest time of his life is when he became a homesteader in Wisconsin. He loved his gardening and growing tomatoes and hot peppers. He was proud of his land and his toys except the John Deere tractor that his wife took control of. Not a big sports fan except for the Bears and Packers, he did try to learn to ice skate without anyone knowing. He would get off of work at 4am come home get his skates and folding chair and got down to the lake. He was doing good till the day he fell and broke the chair. He loved to travel and take the kids to see what GOD Made not man made. He loved playing jokes and laughing with everyone, April Fools Day was his favorite. He didn't like pets, but he fell in love with his 2 dogs Ryleanne and KatieSue they stayed outside with him from dawn to dusk in the gardens. Dan led a life full of love, compassion, caring and laughter, he treated everyone like family. Dan was proud of his Southern Heritage and he was a true American Patriot. Dan also leaves behind his sister in-law Patrica, nieces, Judy, Kim, Ronda, Robin, nephews James, Michael, Kevin, Ernie. Visitation is on Monday, Feb. 20th, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and the service will be on Tuesday Feb 21st at 11:00 AM at Osceola Memory Gardens, 1717 Old Boggy Creek Rd., Kissimmee, Fl 34744 (407)847-2494.
