Cynthia Hourie

Cynthia May Hourie 80 years old passed away peacefully on November 22, 2024. She was born on July 30, 1944 in the Parish of Trelawny on the island of Jamaica West Indies and relocated to the United States in 1969 in search of a better life. Cynthia Hourie came to America with dreams of opportunity and a determination to create a brighter future. She worked tirelessly in a live in in job to provide for her family and to ensure they had access to the education and experiences that she had hoped for. In 1979, she began her long and distinguished career at Chase Manhattan Bank in Richmond Hill Queens NY where she dedicated 24 years of her life to serving the community. Cynthia held various positions within the bank, culminating in her role as Branch Manager, where she was known for her unwavering commitment to customer service and her ability to forge lasting relationships with clients and colleagues alike. Throughout her life, Cynthia embraced the values of hard work, aspirations and the importance of family. She found joy in traveling, cruises, buffets and sharing those passions with loved ones. She was known for her kindness, to those around her. Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents Recilda Simpson and John Harvey, her daughter Denise Crooms, her son Nicholas Franco Jr and granddaughter Latisha Brown. She is survived by spouse Patrick, her daughter Ingrid(Michael) grandchildren, Cyrene Crooms(Ben), Tameka Franco, Christopher Glosson, Ricardo Franco, Tanisha Webb, Calvin Glosson, Shanequa Jackson (Ernie), Tawana Webb, Courey Crooms and 15 4 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren who will carry on her legacy of love and resilience as well as her many brothers , sisters, nieces and nephews who were touched by her warmth and generosity. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for the legacy of being the Matriarch of the American dream. As we say goodbye to Cynthia Hourie we remember the incredible journey she undertook for her family and the indelible mark she left on our hearts. She will be forever loved and missed. Rest in peace, Cynthia Hourie , Your dream lives on through us.
