Clarita Martin

With deep sorrow and gratitude for a life well-lived, we share the passing of Clarita Martin, affectionately known as Claire, who peacefully joined her Creator on December 10, 2024, at the age of 83. Born on September 9, 1941, in the Philippines, Claire was a woman of remarkable strength, unwavering faith, and boundless love. Claire attended Far Eastern University in the Philippines in the 1960s and married Clarence, her lifelong partner, in 1965. Together, they built a family and she took immense pride in raising her children and nurturing a home filled with warmth and laughter. Claire will be remembered for her kindness, her quiet strength, and her ability to bring people together. She was the heart of her family gatherings, always ensuring everyone was well-fed and sharing her quick wit that kept her family laughing. She loved ceramics, cooking, spending time with friends and family, crafting, attending church, and shopping. Claire also enjoyed returning to the Philippines to spend time with her relatives, especially her sister, Carolina and her family, proving that her commitment to family transcended distance. Whether near or far, she always made an effort to stay connected, showing that love and devotion knew no boundaries. Claire was a constant source of strength for her daughters, teaching them how to navigate life’s challenges with a positive outlook. Even in difficult times, she showed them how to find the silver lining, instilling in them the belief that with patience and resilience, every challenge can be overcome. Claire is described by her grandkids as extremely supportive and generous. Her laugh and smile were contagious, and she always made an effort to be there for important events. Her sense of humor was unparalleled, and she showed her grandkids the value of unconditional love, kindness, and thoughtfulness. Claire never failed to make them smile, always offering love without bounds and finding ways to celebrate achievements. Even in tough times, she persevered with grace, teaching them how to navigate challenges with strength. She also knew how to get her grandkids to massage her feet for $20, a playful reminder of her ability to make every moment enjoyable. Claire’s faith was a cornerstone of her life, shaping her values and her actions. A devoted volunteer at her parish, she took immense pride in organizing the Filipino Simbang Gabi celebrations each Christmas, bringing together her community in joyful worship. Her love for her church and her commitment to serving others were expressions of her deep and unwavering faith. Claire’s strength of character and commitment to those around her made a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Beyond her service to the church, Claire was known for her fierce loyalty, her nurturing spirit, and her deep, lasting friendships. With a strong disposition and a warm heart, she was a friend and mother who made others feel valued, loved, and understood. Her laughter and infectious spirit brightened every room, and she had a unique ability to lift others up during both joyful and challenging times. Claire is survived by her devoted husband, Clarence Martin, and her loving daughters: Clarissa (Roderick) Pompey, Claudine (Richard) Weber, Claribel (Raymond) Lascano, and Claudette (Scott) Stears, her nieces Maryann, Marievic and nephew Eric, and 9 grandchildren: Skyler, RJ, Alec, Alayna, Corinne, Felisa, Mykaela, Ella, and Reanna. She was predeceased by her parents, Maximo and Lourdes Morales, her brother, Romulo and her sister, Carolina. Her passing leaves a profound void in our hearts, but her love, strength, and the friendships she built will continue to inspire us. Visitation will be held at Osceola Memory Gardens, 2000 Thirteenth St, St. Cloud, FL Thursday, December 19th from 2-5pm. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 700 Brown Chapel Rd, St. Cloud, FL, Friday, December 20th at 10:30am. A memorial service in Illinois will be held at a later date with details to be announced.
