Candida Viera

Candida Viera went home to the Lord on May 31st of 2024, at the age of 91 years old of natural causes. Born in Gurabo, Puerto Rico on August 01,1932. She was the Daughter of Emilio Viera Sr. and Julia Oyola Diaz. She was survived by her Daughters Sonia Mojica and Ruth Santiago. The Grandmother to Sandra Santiago, Luis R. Garcia Jr., Jessica Santiago, Marisol Santiago, Erika Antongiorgi and Candace Antongiorgi. And Great Grandmother to Jasmine Santiago, Ileana Santiago, Gabriella Garcia, Xavier Valentin, Yariliz Valentin, Yeilani Valentin, Evan Daley, Elijah Daley and Liam Daley. Candida is also survived by her siblings Gladys Velasquez, Maria Diaz Oyola, Ana Viera Delgado, Laura Estremera, Jose A. Viera Sr,Emilio Viera jr, Michael Diaz, Jose Diaz Oyola, Hector Diaz and Juan Diaz. She was preceded in death by Gabriel Garcia (grandson), Siblings Margarita Viera Flores, Maria Nelly Viera, Giorgina Dones, Lydia Figueroa, Angel Luis Viera, Mario Diaz Sr., Ruberto Viera, Jose Viera (Pepe) and Francisco Viera. A very hard worker, as a seamstress for many years until retirement. She loved writing down and singing hymns. In addition, Candida accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was a graduated Usher to Pabellón de la Victoria. She loved her Pastors dearly and was very thankful towards them. Candida was loved by so many. Her positive outlook, generous spirit, and kind heart left an impression wherever she went. Candida loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family. We will definitely miss her famous and delicious "Pasteles and arroz imperial". She never met a stranger that didn't quickly become a friend. Her family will miss her big presence in their lives but rejoice knowing she is in peace and resting as the good and faithful servant she was to the Lord. Our dear Candida was always an independent, strong, active, resourceful, and beloved Mother, Grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Candida’s beautiful smile and laughter lit up our souls. She lived a life of transformed grace. Every person that knew her from her previous life was a witness to the transformative power of Jesus Christ in her. She shared her love to everyone who was around her and we are so grateful for the love she had for her family. She will be missed dearly and forever in our hearts.
