Betty Dale Black

Betty Dale Black., also known as Merna to most, was born March 17, 1944 in Iron River, Ml, to parents Ervin Adrian Amerson and Betty Lou Marguerte Amerson. She was one of five wonderful children. She is survived by her sister, Susan Carol Waldon, and brother, Harley Jay Amerson. She was married on February 7, 1967, in Miami, Florida to Cary Lamar Black, also known as Pepa, who passed on July 9, 2019. She is also survived by her four children: Debra Leach-Shaver (spouse Steven Shaver), Richard Leach, Cary Black, II, and Rawlin Black (partner Angela Wilder), as well as eight grandchildren: Eric Pfeiffer (spouse Jennifer), Elizabeth Black, Mark Pfeiffer (spouse Jessica), Michael Hewitt (spouse Kandice), Cary Black Ill (spouse Vlady), Patrick Hewitt, Nathanial Shaver (fiance Miranda) and Billy Hewitt, and four great grandchildren: Keely, Ryan Lamar, Grace and Remington Dale, and many nieces, nephews and cousins! After a long struggle with dementia, she went in peace to her Heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 22, 2021. Betty was the light of our lives, always smiling and welcoming everyone with open arms. She was family-oriented, loyal, compassionate, loving and very classy. Betty loved God first and foremost and exemplified the life of a true Christian believer and was always happy to share her wisdom and life experiences. She was often heard saying to her grandkids, "Be kind, forgiving, and do unto others as you would have them do unto you." One of her most well-known quotes was 'life is all about choices'. Betty would rise early in the morning and begin her day by thanking God. She was truthful, enduring, and faithful. She always displayed God's love and mercy to everyone through her words and actions. Betty was a living example of a virtuous woman and is now joyously celebrating in her eternal home with Jesus. She will forever remain in the hearts, memories, and spirit of all whose lives she touched and who were blessed to know and love her here on this earth. She is now and always will be admired, adored, and missed by all who knew her for the strong, kind, amazing woman that she was.
