HALL – BERTHA M. “KARYL” HALL (DUBOIS), of St. Cloud, FL. Died September 19, 2011. She was born October 23, 1915, In Bankers, MI to Fred C. and Georgiana (Edwards) DuBois. She graduated from Hillsdale High School, Riggs Beauty School and attended Hillsdale College; all in Hillsdale, MI.Bertha started Lakeside Beauty Shop in her Bankers, MI home. She continued on as a beautician for over sixty years. Her most important profession was the wonderful Mother of five children as well as the wife of a career, active Duty Army Sergeant for over 21 years which took her traveling to many destinations, including Germany, Arizona, Alaska and New Jersey before settling in Florida in 1974. Bertha is preceded in death by her Husband, Gilbert F. “Gil” Hall of 37 years; Daughter, Joella Mae Champion; Son, Jan F. Hall; Granddaughter, Lynda Marie Shearman; Sisters – Grace DuBois, Helen Holtsberry, Frances Smith, Thelma Kintigh; Brothers – Clark DuBois and Frederic DuBois. Bertha is survived by Sons – Gary M. (Carol) Shearman, of Hillsdale, MI; Jay H. (Kathleen) Carey of Chandler, AZ; Daughter – Jackie E. (James) Hall-Everett of Groveland, FL; Son-in-Law, Randal (Joella) Champion of Hillsdale, MI; Seven Grandchildren; Eight Great Grandchildren; several Nieces and Nephews, including Russell Smith of Ft. Myers, FL; Jeanne Squires of Hartford, MI; Betty Ritchey, Osseo, MI; and Mary Murphy of Coldwater, MI; Step Children – Paulette (Hall) Poore, Frances Kay (Hall) Cox, Gilbert Hall, all of Anderson, IN; James V. Carey and Ken Carey, both of Green Cove Springs, FL; Lenna (Carey) Tucker of Alapaha, GA and Kim Carey, of Tifton, GA; Leira (Hall) Janklow of Rapid City, SD. Bertha belonged to the Elks, the Moose, D.A.V., American Legion, AARP, H2U, 55 Alive and Toho Friends. She always found time to give back to her community. Services will be held at Osceola Memorial Gardens, 1717 Old Boggy Creek Road, Kissimmee, FL 34744 on Monday, September 26, 2011 from 5:30 – 7:30 PM with the Elkette's Memorial Ritual at 7:00pm. The Funeral will be on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Randal Champion officiating.
