Barbara Sibblis

Barbara Sibblis, a long time resident of Solivita in Poinciana, Florida died on Wednesday the 20th of February on the Island of St. Maarten while vacationing with her daughter Nicole and her grandchildren. She was 75 years old. Born in 1943 in Blairsville, Pennsylvania-Barbara was the fifth child of Esco Julius Wilson and Pauline Bracy Wilson. She was baptized as a teen at the 2nd Baptist Church where she was active in the Sunday school church choir. She graduated with honors from Derry Area High School in 1961. During High school she was very active in the Future Nurses of America Club. Barbara graduated from Brooklyn Jewish Hospital Nursing School in 1964 where she was well known for her excellent bedside manner. Barbara received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut in 1976. She continued her education at the University of Connecticut where she received her Master of Science in Nursing degree in 1981 and graduated Suma Cum Laude. Barbara began her nursing career in Brooklyn, NY as a medical-surgical nurse. She quickly advanced in her career to a Family Nurse Practitioner at Kaiser Permanente, then became a Patient Advocate Director at Travelers Insurance. From there she became the Regional Director of Case Management at CIGNA Healthcare in Bloomfield, CT. She retired from CIGNA in 2009 when she and her husband Barry relocated to Poinciana, FL. Barbara loved to exercise in the outdoors and became an avid lover of pickle ball and golf. She also enjoyed playing cards, board games and line dancing. She enjoyed every opportunity to spend time with her grandchildren. She made many friends and loved to socialize, but treasured quiet times with her beloved Barry. She is predeceased by her parents, Pauline Bracy Wilson and Esco Julius Wilson and by her brother John (Macky) Wilson. She is survived by her husband Barrington Sibblis, brothers Dr. William Jullus Wilson (Jo) and Phillip Esco Wilson (Sharline), sisters Dr. Audrey Harrigan and Janice Delores Harrison (Carl). She is also survived by her daughters Nicole Woodley (Christopher), Taryn Sibblis, Stepchildren: Sean Sibblis (Latisha) and Judy Bernard (Marc); grandchildren Kayla Woodley, Christopher Woodley Jr., Malia Woodley, stepchildren Mikuel Walters, Mikhari Sibblis, Mikaeden Sibblis, Mikeenen Sibblis, Chanel Spyke and Mekhi Reves; Her nephews, Richard Harrigan, Carter Wilson, Rodney Harrison (LaPrenna) and Esco Wilson, her nieces Colleen Larson (Robert), Lisa Wilson, and Paula Wilson, Kendra Noriega (Kevin) and Jillian Wilson as well as several great nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends and acquaintances.
