Asmar Rahman Lawrence

Asmar Rahman Lawrence was born on September 2, 1977, at Osteopathic Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the proud parents of Esmond Gregory Lawrence and Regina Elaine (Quick) Lawrence. He was a special gift to them and the world. Asmar completed his early education at Most Blessed Scarcement Elementary School and West Catholic High School in Philadelphia, Pa. After graduating from high school, Asmar attended Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania. In 2001 he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Albright. Asmar was employed at Warren E. Smith Health Center as a case manager for several years until his health failed. His medical complications started at 14; he would go on to live an inspiring life educating everyone around him. Asmar's core values stood on four things God, family, friends, and sports (Basketball and football) in particular. At the beginning stages of his illness, Asmar underwent a transplant where his younger brother Jamar gave him a kidney which later failed, which meant he would have to go back on dialysis, A journey that he and his father Esmond would go through together. In October 2008, Asmar and his brother Jamar moved to Florida to partner and opened a water ice business. Later, they asked their parents to join them to live in Florida. Asmar was all about loving his family and keeping everyone together. Even during his long illness, Asmar remained a lover of his family and a dedicated friend. Asmar transitioned peacefully from this earthy life to eternal life on August 23, 2022, after battling his long illness. God took his hand and said, “servant of God, well done!”. His maternal and paternal grandparents preceded him in death. Asmar leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved parents, Esmond and Regina Lawrence, his brother Jamar Gregory (Aritha), nephew Enoch Lawrence, niece Ancient Lawrence, his Aunts Patricia Nira Smith (James) Hillside, New Jersey, Mrs. Florence McElveen, Philadelphia, Pa, Mrs. Cecilia Downer (Henry), Philadelphia, Pa, Mrs. Patricia McClary (Joseph), Philadelphia, Pa, Uncle Joseph Lawrence (Sylvia), New York, New York, his Godson Eugene Garfield Jr. and a great host of cousins and friends.
