Andrew Jackson Alexander

Andrew Jackson “Jack” Alexander, 79 of St. Cloud, Florida went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 30, 2023 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Jack was born in Lyons Ga on September 2, 1943 . The son of Rufus and Claudia Alexander, along with his three brothers Bill (Joy), Fred (Janie) and Jimmy (Jackie) who endearingly refer to him as “Sunnyboy”. When Jack wasn’t playing sports, or enjoying time with his buddies he could be found working at his family’s cotton gin. Jack enjoyed an idyllic childhood in his small town, having fun with his brothers, cousins and dear friends. His childhood was a wonderful time that he reminisced about fondly. Jack graduated from Lyons High School and went on to study at Austin Peay University in Clarksville TN where he enjoyed studying history and loved diving. It is also where he met his loving wife and the love of his life Judy Curtis Alexander. Jack and Judy were married for 56 years and had three daughters, Alisa (LJ) Crouch of St.Cloud Fl., Jill (Scott) Toomey of St. Cloud, Fl and Karen Russell of Franklin Tn. Seven grandchildren; Jesse Crouch, Haylee Crouch, Kelby Craft (Patrick) Ty Toomey, Jacob Crouch, Kate Russell, & Ethan Russell. Two Great-grandchildren Ensley Travers, Charlie Craft Jack held many titles in his life, from Entrepreneur, Business Executive, Outdoorsman & Community Volunteer. Out of his many titles he loved nothing more than being a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather,brother and friend. Most importantly he valued his faith in God and time with his family over anything else, especially at Christmas and yearly family vacations at the beach. Jack had many passions, which included Georgia Bulldog Football, golf, hunting, fishing, surfing, camping and the beach. He was as social as they come and made friends with ease. He was affectionately referred to as “Daddy Jack” by his children, grandchildren and their friends, as he was a second father figure to many of them. Jack was a member of Eastern Avenue Baptist Church in St. Cloud, FL. Jack was preceded in death by his father Rufus Fredrick Alexander and his mother Claudia Lee Thompson Alexander. Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at the Osceola Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 2000 Thirteenth Street, Saint Cloud, FL 34769, with Pastor Jim Callen officiating. Family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00pm prior to the service. Interment in Mt. Peace Cemetery, St. Cloud, will follow the service.
