Amado Felix Escobar

Amado Felix Escobar, age 87, passed away suddenly on January 2nd, 2025, with his wife and granddaughter by his side at his home. He was the devoted husband of Amanda Bertha Escobar, with whom he shared over 59 years of marriage since August 26th, 1965.Born in Havana, Cuba, he was the son of Felix Escobar and Erelia Solano. He worked very hard as an entrepreneur in Cuba until the political circumstances there changed. Driven by a profound desire for freedom and better opportunities for himself and family, Amado Felix sacrificed all he had to start anew in the United States. After a year in New Jersey, he found his home in Kissimmee, Florida, in 1972. There, he dedicated 30 years to a fulfilling career with the Walt Disney Company, retiring in 2002 with pride and countless cherished memories. As a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Amado Felix found joy in the simple pleasures of life—spending quality time with his family, traveling to new places, and engaging in spirited games of dominoes. His legacy is one of unwavering love, generosity, and a heart that always reached out to help others in need. Amado Felix was a positive role model, known for his infectious jokes and the warmth he brought into every room. Amado Felix is survived by his beloved wife, Amanda B. Escobar; his children, Felix D. Escobar and Amanda A. Moraguez, along with his son-in-law, Luis F. Moraguez; and seven adoring grandchildren: Luis M. Moraguez, Amanda E. Hagemann, Savanna R. Jenniges, Felix D. Escobar Jr., Sofia M. Escobar, Zoe M. Escobar, and Landon F. Escobar. Each of them carries forward his legacy of love, kindness, and resilience. A viewing service to honor Amado Felix’s life will be held on Thursday, January 9th, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Osceola Memory Gardens (Poinciana Chapel), located at 3175 Pleasant Hill Road, Kissimmee, FL 34746. A Mass of thanksgiving and farewell will take place on Friday, January 10th, 2025, at 1:30 PM at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, located at 1603 North Thacker Avenue, Kissimmee, FL 34741. Following the Mass, Amado Felix will be laid to rest at Osceola Memory Gardens Cemetery, located at 1717 Old Boggy Creek Road, Kissimmee, FL 34744. Amado Felix Escobar’s life was a testament to love, perseverance, and the enduring bonds of family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
