Agnes V. Mancuso

Obituary: Mrs. Agnes V. (Inklebarger) Mancuso January 3, 1926 – December 24, 2020 Kissimmee, Fl. – Mrs. Agnes V. (Inklebarger) Mancuso, age 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 24, 2020 in the comfort of her daughter’s home with her family by her side. Born in Lavaca, Arkansas on January 3, 1926, Agnes was the daughter of the late Benjamin F. & Blanch G. (Grubb) Inklebarger. She was the youngest of seven siblings. Mom often mentioned her fond memories growing up with her siblings while being raised on their family farm. From this early experience her vegetable and flower gardens flourished abundantly. While working at the Camp Chaffee Army base in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Agnes met her husband Joseph M. Mancuso Sr. while he was stationed there after serving in World War II. They were married on August 5th, 1944 and in 1950 moved to Utica, New York where they raised their six children. They shared 58 years of marriage until his passing on December 2, 2002. When her youngest child reached school age, Agnes started her employment at F. W. Woolworth’s at the Mohawk St. location and then at the Genesee St. location until her retirement in 1991. Agnes remained friends over the years with her former co-workers and they would meet on occasion to reminisce about all the fun times they shared while employed at Woolworth’s. Agnes enjoyed the Italian traditions of her husband’s family and learned how to make homemade pasta, sauce, meatballs and many of the other dishes related to the Italian heritage. She also loved to bake her famous pies, Apple, Lemon Meringue, Chocolate Cream, Coconut Cream, Cherry and Blueberry. While living in East Utica one of her most cherished neighbors was the Lasek family. Mary Lasek would stop by every evening after supper for coffee and jokes. We all enjoyed hours of laughter. Agnes became a parishioner of The First United Methodist Church in Kissimmee, Fl. Where she attended services every Sunday. As a member of the Young at Heart Fellowship she attended the monthly potluck luncheons where she became close to so many dear friends. Agnes is survived by her daughters and their spouses Margaret Christman, Lucy and Anthony Migliaccio, Cookie and Brad Hughes, Judi and Ray Patino, all of Florida and her son Joseph (Butch) Mancuso Jr. of Utica, NY: her cherished grandchildren Anthony, Joseph, and Dana Migliaccio, Steven and Amber Chapman, Kandy and Melanie Christman, Orlando Cross, Joy Sunshine Jones, Nick Mannino, Robert Hughes, George and Joseph Patino; great-grandchildren Abbeigh, Cannon, Noah, James, Amelia, Orlando Cross Jr., Robbin, Lyfe, Daniel and Jake. Also, special mention to Mary Citrinite, Mary Cross, and Bonnie Miner who were like daughters to Mom, and Winnie Leverett, a special friend from her Young at Heart Fellowship. She also leaves her many cherished nieces and nephews of Arkansas, Joan and Butch Maness and Kenny and Shirley Douglas who often visited Aunt Agnes, and all who wrote or called on her birthday and holidays, and her nieces and nephews of Utica, New York. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph M. Mancuso Sr. on December 2, 2002 and her son Frank P. Mancuso on November 6, 2015, her siblings and their spouses Violet and Charles Haney, C J and Irma Inklebarger, Ivo and Genice Inklebarger, BF and Ruby Inklebarger, Ima Hooper, and Freda and Carroll Douglas. In-laws and their spouses Mary and Ray Cardillo, Sara and Dean De Stefano, Connie and Bob Cittidino, Orazio Mancuso, Kathleen Hajdasz, Dolly and Bob Albison, Frank Mancuso, Tony and Rose Mancuso The family sends sincere thanks to physicians Dr. Hartman and Dr. Kakkar and staff who cared for Mom for over 20 years.
