Noelita Christina Mathurin

Noelita Christina Mathurin, 77, died May 21, 2021 at home in Kissimmee, Florida, surrounded by her family and loved ones, after a long illness. Her funeral services will be held at 11am on Friday, May 28, 2021 at Mount Zion Seventh-day Adventist Church, located at 2123 N. Smith Street, Kissimmee, FL 34744, followed by interment at Osceola Memory Gardens at 1717 Old Boggy Creek Road, Kissimmee, FL 34744. Following the burial, the family invites all to a gathering and lunch at the Mount Zion Seventh-day Adventist Church. In observance of CDC COVID-19 guidelines, facemask is required, and social distancing will be practiced at all of the memorial activities. Mrs. Mathurin was born on December 26, 1943 in St. Lucia, in the British West Indies to the late Marie Emilienne Apharel. She retired from the Florida Hospital-Kissimmee, after more than 30 years. Noelita is survived by her daughter, Janice Mathurin-Boyd and her husband, Sean Boyd of California; sons – Orleans, Eustacious, Robert, and Jude, Jr.; granddaughters – Angeleigh, Mya, and Zariyah of Florida; stepdaughter, Virginia (Judy) and family – Lana, Shanyka, and Shenelle of Florida; brothers – Stephen Arthur Andree and wife, Monica of Canada and Dennis Apharel of New York; cousin – Josephine “Neces” Arthur and family of St. Croix, US; numerous nieces and nephews in the US, Barbados, St. Lucia, Canada, New York: Marilyn, Caroline, Recarder, Curtis, Teddy, Sarah, Meredith, Samuel, Earl, Ezra, Manley, Lisa, Andy, Andreotte, Keith, Tyron, Allison, Theresa “Titi”, Juanita, Nicholas, and Michael. Noelita is preceded in death by Jude Mathurin, her husband of over 40 years; sisters, Louisa “Lera” Francisca Marius and Romelia Jules. Gone but not forgotten, Noelita’s legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone who knew her for her kindness, loyalty, compassion, and generosity. Noelita was a devoted mother and grandmother, a woman of faith and was actively involved in her church. A great cook of authentic Caribbean cuisine, her cakes were absolutely the best. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.
