Timothy M Blades
September 6, 1971 - February 6, 2022
St. Cloud, FL: Timothy Blades, of St. Cloud, Florida, formerly of Framingham, Massachusetts, entered into eternal peace on Sunday, February 6, 2022, after a lengthy and valiant battle with COVID-19. Despite fighting for every inch of recovery along the way, God ended his suffering and called him home to rest. He was 50 years old. Tim was a proud father of two and beloved husband of his best friend, Kathy (née Gudknecht) Blades. Together with Kathy’s unending optimism and positivity and Tim’s pragmatism and faith, this dynamic duo built a life together under the sunny skies of St. Cloud and raised a beautiful family in love with a dash of silly. Born into a legacy of long-time Framingham families, Tim was the oldest son of Linda (née McGaughey) Blades and Bruce Blades. His sense of duty was strong and important to him; Tim proudly participated in the Framingham Heart Study, traveling from Florida in later years to fulfill his obligation. Tim spent his childhood occupying his curious mind and intellect as a Boy Scout, putting together Legos –a hobby that he enjoyed well into his adulthood, exploring at his family’s lakeside summer camp in Westford, Massachusetts, and spending summers with his family at the beaches in Maine. In high school, Tim was an exceptional athlete, playing soccer and excelling at track, where he was a valued member of that running community. He was modest about his superior intellect, and was inducted into the National Honor Society at the earliest possible juncture. Nothing was more important to Tim than his family. He treasured time at home with Kathy, Emily and Joey, often joined by his mother-in-law Iva for family meals and gatherings. Tim shared his love of adventuring to nearby theme parks with them all. Suffice it to say, Tim was hooked on the magic of Epcot, and would spend as much time as they’d allow getting lost in the World Showcase there. He loved all things Star Wars and was a Thor aficionado; folks often joked with him about his strong resemblance to the character. Tim laughed this off with his typical modesty. His intellect, passions, endless love for his family, and kindness will be sorely missed by all who knew Tim. Tim is survived by the love of his life, Katherine Blades; his precious daughter, Emily, who was his joy; his treasured son, Joseph, who was his pride. He leaves his loving mother, Linda Blades, of Portland, Maine; his father Bruce Blades and his wife Sandy of Freeburg, Pennsylvania; his mother-in-law, Iva Barger, to whom he was very close; his dear brother, Christopher and his wife Beth (Shaughnessy) of Portland, Maine, along with their three sons, Jacob, Nathan and Owen. Timmy is also survived by his extended family in the New England area who helped raise him, his maternal aunt Susie and her husband Greg and his maternal aunt Joey and her husband Bobby. In addition, Timmy leaves his dear cousins who were brought up together like siblings, Jason Meade and his wife Jennifer, Melanie Roffo (née Meade) her husband Marco, and Heather Allen (née Duffy) and her husband Mark. A private burial is planned. In remembrance of Tim, please consider a donation to Friends of the Framingham Heart Study, 73 Mount Wayte Avenue, Framingham, MA 01702, or donate to his go-fund-me page to help defray his family’s cost of medical expenses https://gofund.me/d4e68070 Arrangements entrusted to Osceola Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 2000 13th Street, St. Cloud, Florida 34769.
