Richard Arthur Gerst, 41, of Saint Cloud, FL passed away suddenly on October 23, 2021. He was born on July 3, 1980 to Richard and Mary (Berg) Gerst in St. Louis, MO. Richard worked as a Basketball Coach and shaped the lives of many young women and men over the years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Lodge # 15357. Richard was preceded in death by his father, Richard Melvin Gerst and brother, James Michael Gerst. Richard is survived by his family; mother, Mary Gerst of St. Cloud, FL; aunt, Mary Ann (Gordon) Adkisson of Lake Ozark, MO; uncles, Raymond J. (Jeannette) Gerst of Lakeland, FL, Art (Kim) Gerst of St. Charles, MO; Cousins, Angela (Bradley) Kerns of Lake Ozark, MO, Amanda (Zachery) Horne of Mountain Home, AR, Steven Gerst of Lakeland, FL, Brittany (Trey) Congdon of Anchorage, AK and Brian (Penny) Gerst of DeSoto, MO. The family will receive friends on Thursday October 28, 2021 from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM in the chapel of Osceola Memory Gardens St. Cloud. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday October 29, 2021 beginning at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. 700 Brown Chapel Road St. Cloud, FL 34769 with Fr. Joe Weber officiating. Interment will follow in Osceola Memory Gardens Cemetery, Kissimmee.
