Leontina, worked very briefly in her 96 ½ years and was always blessed to stay at home and care for her husband and children. She loved doing laundry, mending and taking her afternoon siesta breaks in her favorite rocking chair. She is probably one of the biggest and oldest General Hospital fans ever, watching the show since it first aired in April of 1963. Her favorite and often used saying was, “Don’t Work To Hard, Let Someone Else Do It,” we will forever hear those words and laugh many days with numerous other sayings mother loved to say. She helped her husband for many years, in the 5 acre orange groves, that he grew and harvested yearly, with the oranges taken to market for sale each season, a passion of his. She also loved going in the family swimming pool and occasionally floating on her back with a glass of wine in her hand up to the age of 94. She is preceded in death by her loving, devoted husband, Edwin B. Souza Sr. and her beloved son Edwin B. Souza Jr., also her sisters, Gloria Chandler, Helen Nunes; brothers, John B. Souza, Joseph B. Souza; and her parents, Joseph and Florence Souza. Surviving relatives are her daughter, Debby Couturier of Florida and son-in-law, Robert Couturier; her grandsons, Robert Couturier, Adam Couturier and Adam’s fiancée Brittany G., and adopted grandson, John Miller. Her beloved fur grandbabies, Kitoko, Kimeko, Kimba and her feathered friend Petie. Her brother, Michael Souza of Sarasota, Florida, her brother Paul Souza, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Her sister in law, who was also a sister Barbara Souza of Fall River. Sha also has several nieces and nephews between Florida, Virginia, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Oklahoma.
